I started reading Barracuda by Christos Tsiolkas (author of The Slap) a couple of weeks ago.  I picked it up as I had read The Slap and enjoyed it, and read the blurb on the back.  The blurb didn't give much away, but I decided to give it a go.  Well, let...  more

I have just finished Go Set a Watchman, and I am not quite sure how I feel about it.  The scene was well set, but then I think the most important part of the story was rushed (and I found parts of it hard to follow), all makes sense in the end but ....  A...  more

I have just finished reading The Rosie Effect, took me a lot longer to get through than The Rosie Project, I found it a bit slow to start with but it did pick up by the end.  All in all an easy read.  Has anyone else read it?  What did you think?

My sister-in-law is due to have her 3rd bub any time now, and she was running names past me - all of which are inspired by authors/characters.  Has anyone named their son/daughter after their favourite author/poet/character?  Let us know!

I just finished reading.. The Happiest Refugee by Anh Do (he is a comedian). It is the true story of Anh Do coming to Australia. It is a very interesting book and eye opener for what it is like for refugees when they come to Australia. Highly recommended.

    Has anyone read Jasper Jones?
BRILLIANT! Some parts were actually laugh out loud funny (not that it's a comedy)
Jeffrey Lu best character in a book ever!

What's everyone reading. I'm reading Jasper Jones. Loving it but a bit bored at the same time. As in it's brilliantly written and at times I've actually laughed out oud. But it kinda feels a little slow too. Anyone else read it?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice upbeat easy read?? I have a 7 week old and just don't feel like I have the brain capacity for something too in depth and it would be good to have something upbeat. Any ideas?
